Welcome to secrets news Let me fill you in on a little secret...
Night eating plagues many people and has sabotaged many a weight loss plan especially in the colder winter months.
Today's article offers some tips to reduce night eating and help your plan
work better for you.
I also want to congratulate the winners of the ipod nanos (they
were notified by phone last week) and thanks to all those who participated.
I loved the variety of reasons why you like to snack on Slim Secrets
bars.
One of my favorite responses came from a Slim Secrets consumer
in Geelong who has lost a substantial amount of weight on what
she calls the "Slim Secrets" healthy eating plan. The
crux of it can be found in the information below re eating enough
during the day. Another consumer loved the helpful secrets, articles,
blogs and motivation provided by the Slim Secrets website as well
as the excellent taste and nutritional panel of the bars. I am also excited to announce that selected Coles Supermarkets will be stocking some of the Slim Secrets bars very soon.
How to Stop Eating at Night
Does this pattern sound familiar to you:
You are not that hungry during the day, so you don't eat very
much. You may be so busy at work that you don't take time to eat.
You may not even notice the signals that your body is sending you.
Since it is easier to eat less during the day, you may do this
intentionally since you overate the night before.
By mid-afternoon, you are more fatigued and you start to get cravings.
You have to push through the afternoon, so you eat something to
get you through it. This pattern continues through the evening.
You may feel bored, or anxious without the structure of the day's
events. Or you may just feel tired and overworked.
As one friend says "if I have work to do in the evening,
I just eat my way through it".
Here are some secrets to start changing this pattern:
- Eat enough during the day, especially enough protein (Slim
Secrets bars can help you with this). Don't try to "make
up for" overeating at night by not eating during the day.
This only perpetuates the pattern.
- Check in with yourself at
regular intervals. Are you hungry? Listen out for your body
signals.
- Do not multitask while you eat. Do not sit at your
desk -- go to a different area so that you can relax and you
won't
be tempted
to accomplish anything else while you eat.
- Make a plan
for the evening if this is challenging for you. What can you
do that would be fun for you? How can you
change
your routine? How can you relax without eating?
- Make
it your goal to be hungry in the morning. It's hard to shift
the pattern if you aren't hungry during the
day.
- Shift the pattern gradually. You don't have to
do this all at once. Try eating less at night first and
see if
you can
do this
without feeling deprived.
This may take some time, but it is a worthy goal, so be patient!
Be safe and have fun Warm wishes Sharon One
Important Secret To Weight Loss Do not eat three hours
before you go to bed. That’s
it! My walking friends all agree that this really is an important
element in the weight loss game. No fancy pills, no excruciating
workouts. Simply stop eating three hours before you retire for
the night (although not always possible if eating out for example).
This means that if you plan on going to bed at 11pm, the last
item of food that you will eat that night will be no later than
8pm. To help you in this process try brushing your teeth at 8pm
to remind yourself that you are done eating for the day.
I know this sounds too easy to result in major weight loss,
but after doing this for 30 days (as well a regular physical
activity) you will find yourself laughing at the diet pill commercials
as you celebrate your newfound weight loss!

Are You Worried That Someone Close To You Has an EATING DISORDER?
There are no simple secrets to persuading someone to seek treatment
for an eating disorder. However, ''approach them respectfully,
but firmly'' the experts advise. Talk about what you see. Don't
accuse
them. Don't say, "I know you're doing this...". Instead, focus
on how they look (sad, miserable).
- Drastic weight loss
- Preoccupation with counting calories
- The need to weigh several
times a day
- Excessive exercise
- Binge eating or purging
- Food rituals, like taking tiny bites,
skipping food groups or re-arranging food on the plate
- Avoiding meals or only wanting to eat alone
- Taking laxatives
or diuretics
- Smoking to curb appetite
- Persistent view of oneself as fat
that worsens despite weight loss

Healthy Eating Habits For Children
I have done a great deal of research on childhood obesity and
wrote an easy A-Z guide on the many issues involved. The guide
was nearly published and distributed by the Victorian Government
last year but the costs involved were too great for them.
I will from time to time discuss in my blog some of the secrets
from the guide.
Secret:
It is very important to instill healthy eating habits in our children
from the very beginning. Our preferences for food are largely formed
in the early years. Of course, we are born to some degree with
our preferences as well; food preferences are largely influenced
by our exposure (or lack there of) to a variety of food choices.
Keep this in mind when you are choosing which foods to feed your
young ones.
Also remember that children may not fully accept a
food after the first, second, or even third exposure -- just
don't give up!
Always watch for signs of potential allergies when
introducing
any new food (ask your Doctor if you have any questions or
concerns).
Variety is the spice of life, and sets up a lifetime
of healthy
eating habits.
